Why this episode felt more like "epilogue to season 1" rather than "beginning of season 2" ?

this was a strange ep, but Danji was lookin fresh so i'll allow it

I only watched the first 2 episodes of the first season because they made Yu-yu Kondou way too effeminates and have weird blushing thing with Momoyama, consider the fact that he is like 11 or something--it was borderline gay, creepy and pedo! However this episode showing Megumi courageous actions to display her feeling for Momoyama and his response in kind was amazing. This episode love confession was subtle and well writing with the author and animators showing how both Megumi and Momoyama have grown over the past first season.

This episode have done what NO comedic/romance anime CANNOT do in 12-24 episodes - AMAZING!

This episode rating: 9/10!

Anime tends to make sibling relationships so dramatic and borderline. You can express love between siblings in a much more ordinary manner than whatever was concocted and delivered in this episode.

Yeah I know that, but I guess you could still say the fact she calls Danji "Big Bro" represents a sort of sibling love where she respects and admires him. It just irks me when they can't keep showing this sort of admiration short and simple, but feel they have to be all dramatic about it in the most normal moments.

It's a culture thing maybe?Asian mother tend to call her husband Daddy, especially in front of their child so they could mimic it. It would be disaster if their child called their father "Honey".

He did not appear even once this episode. This episode was about the female MC saying goodbye to Danji as he left do to... whatever it is he decided to do.

What about the previous season?

They never stopped using his appearance to joke about him being a girl and dressed him up as one multiple times, and up until the end the anime teased his "relationship" with Danji. Neither of those situations changed.

but even if there were some annoying scenes, it is actually worth a watch as those scenes reduce to some extent after a few episodes..........

...still, I'll come back once I see news of the MC becoming some kind of badass. If it doesn't happen, then either because that is not the point of the story or because this vanguard will not be good.

In terms of actual card game... Cardfight... At least you can play the actual game and don't need to watch your opponent for minutes using half their deck and extra deck on their first turn.

Look ! How bad the Vanguard franchise has fallen . I would argue that this is the worst Arc. There is waaaay mooore stupid drama than actual cardfight . Nor are the card characters shown to be battling visually in their imagination like they usually did earlier . Now it's just some stupid characters sitting and playing and sometimes throwing in an advice or two . The mc doesn't make much appearance in even the first episode . Even the "Build Divide: Code Black " which has taken from characteristics from Vanguard , Yu-gi-oh and other shows is waaaay better than this arc of dumps.

As usual, the series goes onto feminism too much. Allowing Megumi to beat Danji is straight out feminism! The MC was not able to beat Danji either and neither Tora, who was Danji's rival for years - but Megumi without any sense of rivalry defeats him... Spare me the bullshit!

To be honest I don't like Overdress. Cards are pretty cool and I like what they are doing with them. As for the show... I don't know what I'm watching. The whole world/character building is nice and stuff but the anime shows so little of the card game and when it does it get either treated as a side thing or a very dull and boring fight and they try play it off by having a flashy moment and that's it. I get that this takes place 30 years into the future from the original show but what the hell happened? Did the card game slowly loose it popularity? Do people struggle to imagine the units they are fighting with while playing? What happened to Cray? I get that they wanna try something different but nothing is making any sense right now. I'm still watching because i wanna know if my questions will ever be answered. I just want to see a intense and passionate card fight.

The last Vanguard series was more interesting, and the MC Sendou Aichi was very relatable, he was cool, collected, encouraging and his VA voice was interesting, in the fact it was both manly and soft-spoken! This series have some weird pedo-gay comedy with Kondou and Momoyama and they cross-dressed him in the first episode - WHY?

Drop the first season after 2 episode, but this episode romance and character development with Megumi and Momoyama was well done - it's what most 12-24 episodes romance series seem unable to do these days without leaving you with an harem ending!

due to covid-19 I guess they will split cour 12-13 each season. unlike from before they continuingly air until finished.
